13 Gypsies Perfumery

Because of the "rumors" a certain individual feels the need to spread, I'd like to state that I deal directly with one of the largest fragrance labs in the country, not resellers that can be found by doing a simple web search. I use the same fragrance lab as many other established perfumeries. I've never, at any point, stated that I was a "master perfumer" or that my oils were essential oils - they are a blend of attars, essentials, absolutes, & synthetics, as are the oils & perfumes carried by almost every other perfumery. The oils I use were formulated to be perfume oils only. They are grade A, uncut oils that were made to be worn on the skin, as a perfume.

I have had extensive training in the perfume oil field and have 20 years of experience in it. I know fragrances extremely well and am very good at what I do. In 1990, I began working for a somewhat known Michigan perfumery. I learned basically everything I know from the woman who owned it. After we parted ways, I started selling blends I had created & custom blends, by word of mouth & at various events. Eventually, I found my way to Etsy.

I have customers who have been purchasing oils from me since the 90's and can attest to the fact that I hand blend each one - they've witnessed me doing so. It stands to reason that I'd have oils that smell similar to those someone else has. Certain scents blend well together and become a staple in the repertoire of every perfumer. The fragrance lab also has recipes for suggested blends available. I've used some of these in the past, but I no longer do. I am also no longer carrying the blends that my former partner created, even though I own the rights to them. Unless otherwise specified, all of the blends I have listed were created by me.

Perfumers who have the same inspirations may create oils with the same or similar names, this does not mean they're copying one another. The true test is in the quality of the oil itself - how it smells once it's on your skin & how long the scent lasts. If I were simply repackaging oils, I'd have more scents available and it would take me less time to fill orders. Furthermore, if I were selling "cheap flea market oils", my feedback rating wouldn't be as high as it is, nor would I have as many repeat customers as I do. It's been my experience that perfume oil connoisseurs are somewhat finicky (I know I am), which makes it unlikely that they would give praise to or continue to purchase sub-par oils.

The person who is making these claims is doing so for personal reasons, out of spite & jealousy. I urge anyone who has questions in regards to my products, something I've said, or something they've read/heard to contact me directly.

I love trading with other Etsy artisans. I may not be able to accept all offers for trade, but please feel free to ask, if you're interested in doing so.
